Linguine pasta with marinara sauce essentials
1 cup of organic marinara sauce (from a jar)
6 oz organic linguine pasta
½ pound grass fed and finished ground beef
½ medium chopped green pepper
½ cup chopped onion
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1 Tbl avocado or olive oil
1 Tbl garlic powder
½ tsp Himalayan salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 large clove of garlic, chopped
parmesan cheese (optional)
Let’s make this
Bring 4 cups of salted water to a boil over medium heat for 9-11 minutes.
While the water is coming to a boil, add your avocado or olive oil to a large fry pan set on medium heat. Add green pepper, and onion. Cook until semi translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Add the chopped garlic, garlic powder, and salt to the ground beef and veggie mixture. Pour in the marinara sauce and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the sauce looks ‘bubbly’, indicating that all the ingredients are well blended.
Add the drained linguine to the pan and mix everything together. Pour the sauce onto the linguine and serve. Or, sometimes I prefer pouring all of the sauce onto the pasta to allow all the flavors to penetrate each strand of linguine. It’s up to you.
This should make about two servings for an average adult. Add parmesan cheese and a bread stick to finish the dish. Yum.
